    Karen Miller, DVM

My name is Karen Miller and I am a veterinarian in the small town of Lincolnton, NC about 25 miles west of Charlotte. I was born and raised in Charlotte. I graduated from North Carolina State University in 1983 with a B.S. in Zoology and in 1987 from the College of Veterinary Medicine with a DVM. I have practiced at Lincolnton Animal Hospital since then.

I have special interests in dentistry and endocrine diseases. One of the most fulfilling parts of my job is the long standing relationships with many of our clients and patients. A significant number of our clients have been with us since and even before I started here in 1987.

Education of our clients and our staff is of the highest priority for me. I believe in giving in abundance.

I lost my first husband to a long, courageous battle with cancer. I have a wonderful daughter, Caitlin, who is a graduate from NCSU and is a landscape architect living in Raleigh with her husband. My stepdaughter and stepson live in Texas with their spouses and my husband, Ron Tapley, and I have 3 grandkids there and one on the way. Ron and I have 2 dogs, Socks and Smiley and our cat, named Baxter. I enjoy singing in our church choir, reading, yardwork, and trying new recipes. Ron and I like to ride our Harley, play corn hole and pickle ball, and love to try out new restaurants.

Happy Pet Parents

  • The staff and Dr. Miller are patient with my pups, kind, and loving. I have a scared boy and we are working on it, but they always come outside and help me get him inside. They sweet talk him and coax him inside. They do a fantastic job answering questions and taking time with us.

  • The staff and doctors at Lincolnton are always wonderful! We needed for our kitty to be seen right away and Lincolnton never disappoints. Dr. Jones and her team evaluated our cat and due to their prompt action and diagnostic actions he will be feeling better in no time. Dr. Jones always follows up with me personally and addresses all my questions/concerns. Highly recommend.
