Our Story

Serving Lincolnton and Surrounding Communities since 1983, our mission at Lincolnton Animal Hospital is to help your pets live happier, healthier lives by providing exceptional quality medical and surgical care in a compassionate environment. 

What began as a vision for modern, state-of-the-art veterinary care has grown into a full-service veterinary hospital and boarding facility, serving Lincolnton and surrounding areas. 

Throughout our growth, we’ve remained committed to ensuring pets and their families receive individual attention and customized treatment plans in a comfortable, caring environment.

Dr. Karen Miller

Veterinarian

Dr. Karen Miller was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Zoology and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University. She has spent her veterinary career at Lincolnton Animal Hospital, where she has built long-standing relationships with generations of clients and patients.

Dr. Miller has a special interest in dentistry and endocrine diseases. One of the most fulfilling parts of her work is developing lasting relationships with clients and their pets—many of whom have trusted the hospital with their care for many years. She is deeply committed to the education of both clients and staff and believes in giving generously by sharing knowledge to support the best possible outcomes for every patient.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Miller enjoys spending time with her family, including her current husband, Ron. She continues to honor the memory of her first husband, who passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is proud of her daughter, Caitlin, and enjoys time with her extended family and grandchildren.

In her free time, Dr. Miller enjoys singing in her church choir, reading, yardwork, and trying new recipes. She and Ron also enjoy riding their Harley, playing cornhole and pickleball, and exploring new restaurants together.

Dr. Amy Eastin

Veterinarian

Dr. Amy Eastin grew up in Lincoln County and attended East Lincoln High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and went on to complete her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Eastin enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and daughter. Her home is filled with pets, including her dogs Radar, Trip, Fifi, and Nismo, as well as her cats Shadow and Oswin. In her free time, she enjoys photography, scrapbooking, reading, and being with her family.

Dr. Luke Devlin

Veterinarian

Dr. Luke Devlin is originally from Long Island, NY, and graduated from Binghamton University with dual-bachelor degrees in Biology and Philosophy. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University College Dublin in Ireland. Dr. Devlin is passionate about building strong relationships with clients and their pets. He is dedicated to understanding each family’s unique needs and supporting the bond they share with their pets through compassionate, personalized care.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Devlin enjoys reading, rock climbing, playing basketball, and spending time with his wife, Marissa, and their son, Rory.

Dr. Matt Karlheim

Veterinarian

Dr. Matt Karlheim was introduced to veterinary medicine at a young age, growing up in the field through his mother, a veterinary technician. As he got older, he began working alongside her at an animal clinic, further strengthening his passion for patient care. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown before completing his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Karlheim has professional interests in surgery and internal medicine and is dedicated to providing thoughtful, high-quality care for his patients.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Karlheim enjoys biking, hiking, playing the piano, flying his drone, and training in track and field.
